The Feather Compass
Ages 4–8 · self-trust
Milo found a feather that spun like a compass, and a misty fork in the path made him unsure which way led home. The whispering map was folded away tonight, and for a moment the old flutter of worry returned.
Lumi reminded him of everything the season had taught: slow breath, small steps, kind friends. Milo paused and felt, deep inside, a quiet steady pull, like his own gentle compass. He trusted it, just a little, and chose the softer path.
The feather spun and then settled, agreeing, and the way opened toward the glowing meadow. Milo did not need every answer handed to him now. He could pause and listen to his own inner compass, and that made the dark feel friendly all the way to bed.
