The Lost Lullaby
Ages 4–8 · listening
Pip could not sleep, because Pip had lost its little lullaby and only remembered that it was soft and slow. The others wanted to fix it fast with loud guesses, but Milo remembered how being helped had felt when he was small and unsure on the lantern path.
Milo sat close and simply listened, humming nothing, letting Pip try to remember. Lumi dimmed to a gentle glow so the quiet felt safe. In the hush, Pip hummed one true note, then another, until the lost lullaby found its way home.
Everyone joined the tune very softly, so as not to cover Pip's small voice. Pip's eyes grew heavy and glad to be heard. Quiet attention, Milo learned, can help a friend more than a hundred quick answers, and the meadow drifted toward sleep.
