The Brave Kite

Nora had made a kite the color of the rainbow seeds, but each time she ran, it dipped and tumbled into the grass. Her shy smile wobbled. Milo remembered the very first lesson, that asking for help is brave, and stayed close beside her.

Lumi suggested one slow breath and one small change each try, not a giant fix all at once. Theo held the string, Ava watched the wind, and Nora ran again, gentler this time. It dipped once more, and she tried again without scolding herself.

On the next try a soft gust lifted the kite, and it climbed, steady and glad, above the promise tree. Nora laughed the bravest laugh yet. Trying again, she learned, can be gentle and brave at the same time, and the kite waved them goodnight.
